GOLF GTI SMART TECH
The Volkswagen Golf GTI, in Mk 8.5 version, is making its debut in India. The 2.0-liter, four-cylinder “EA888 LK3 evo4″(called as a performanace motor) turbo-petrol engine in the newest model of the sporty hatchback has a maximum output of 261 horsepower and 370 Nm of torque.
It is said to reach a peak speed of 250 kmph after accelerating from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.9 seconds. A seven-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic gearbox will be fitted to it.
SAMRT ENGINE
The 2.0-liter inline-four turbocharged engine that powers the Volkswagen Golf GTI produces 241 horsepower.370 NM and (0-100 just in 5.9 sec).
This time, the sole available gearbox option is the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, which makes changes fast but is ultimately a little less engaging than the six-speed manual transmission that was phased out.
Thankfully, even the automatic GTI is an enjoyable vehicle to drive because of its responsive brakes and enthusiasm to change directions, which make it an absolute pleasure to drive on a winding road.

- Volkswagen is opening pre-bookings for its upcoming model, Volkswagen Golf GTI Car (hereinafter referred to as “Car”). The date of pre-bookings will open on 5th May 2025.
- You confirm that you are an Indian citizen aged 18 years or above as of 5th May 2025, are competent to enter into a contract, and are eligible to get a vehicle registered in your name. You may be referred to as “Customer” wherever the context of these terms and conditions requires such a reference.
- Volkswagen only provides an online platform for participating in the pre-booking process, while the entire sales process, including but not limited to the delivery of the car, will be processed by the authorized Volkswagen dealer (dealer/dealership) only. Volkswagen is only a facilitator and not a party to the transaction between you and the dealer.
- To be eligible for pre-booking, You are required to participate and pass the interactive quiz by securing minimum 4 out of 5 correct responses.
- Only upon successful completion and securing minimum score (4 out of 5) of the said quiz, You will be granted with unique URL to access the pre-booking link.
- Under the pre-booking link, You will have to enter requisite details including your income tax PAN number (considering that the contemplated transaction of Car sales, may entail certain tax compliances) and make an online payment of pre-booking amount of INR 265370 (Rupees Two Lakh Sixty-Five Thousand Three Hundred and Seventy Only) for the Car by selecting the authorised Dealer of your choice (as listed on the booking page) and the colour options available for the Car after which you will be added in the GTI Reserve List
