On May 23, 2025, Kia India plans to launch the Carens Clavis, a new MPV that sits above the standard Carens. It will feature Level 2 ADAS, an enhanced tech package with a dual display, and a redesigned exterior modeled after the EV5. With three engine options and many gearbox choices, the Clavis will come in seven variations.

Having a 1.5-liter normally produced petrol engine, a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine, and a 1.5-liter diesel engine, the new Kia Carens Clavis maintains the same powertrain combination as the regular Carens.
Transmission options – Six-speed manual, six-speed torque converter automatic, seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, and six-speed clutchless manual (iMT)

- Clavis aurea, referred to as “Golden key” in Latin, acted as the catalyst for the Clavis, that was designed to open up a world of incredible experiences and connections to family.

Updated Exterior Design
- New digital tiger Face grille, split LED headlamps and Connected Tail lamps.

- Front and rear skid plates enhanced with Satin Chrome coating, includes metallic-painted side door granish inserts and a fresh Ivory Silver Gloss exterior finish.
- These features were previously seen in the teasers and spy shots.

- Similar seating configurations with leatherette upholstery prevail in MPV versions.
- In contrast to the Carens’ wavy seating upholstery design, the Kia Carens Clavis has vertical line structure on the seats, which gives it a more premium appearance.
PARKING ASSISTANCE
- All MPVs are fitted with both rear and front parking sensors, 360-degree cameras, an automatic parking brake, and six airbags as standard addition.
- It comes with an automatic parking brake with auto hold and a level-2 advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) suite.
SUNROOF
- Similar to the Kia Carens, the Clavis features a panoramic sunroof and twin 12.3-inch touch screen. Similar highlights include an 8-speaker Bose audio system, auto temperature control, lighting effects, heated front seats, and a 4-way electronically adjustable driving seat.

INTERIOR
A 4-way electrically adjustable driver seat, ventilated front seats, connected car features, an integrated smart air purifier are all provided in the Carens Clavis.The center console also has infotainment and temperature swap switches. As usual, Kia’s eight-speaker Bose system will offer a premium audio experience.

The Kia Clavis has large and premium dual-tone alloy wheels compared to the bigger current Kia Carens.
- 17-inch crystal-cut, dual-tone alloy wheels, front and rear skid plates with Satin Chrome finish, side door garnish inserts on Metal Paint, and a new Ivory Silver Gloss exterior color.
- Driver focus alert with adaptive cruise control. These features are unique for the fully loaded HTX Plus trim grade.

1). Two-tone interiors in 1HTX+ and HTX Triton Navy and Beige starring leatherette seats in the two colors, an opulent dashboard garnish, and a pad pattern.

The basic Kia Carens is priced between Rs. 11.41 lakhs to Rs. 13.26 lakhs. It was expected that Kia India would release the 2025 Carens Clavis variant’s price within the first week of June. However, the pricing announcements may happen at the last week of May 2025.
